The Pacific Ocean


The captain of Reprise was 'old school'. He did things in the middle of the ocean that I also wanted for our boat. Every now and then, to save electricity, he turned off the main switch. The boat would then continue under windvane steering. I found that impressive. Unfortunately, this captain disliked sailors who took electrical devices that were not important for navigation (or just not important to himself).

I did bring my GPS, and turned it on from time to time, to register waypoints on it. I later converted them into a track:
